spit happens

the bug is gone and i am finally feeling better! thanks again so much for the well wishes! i'm not 100% but i can run! got my first run in 7 days yesterday...it felt great! yesterday i was able to call myself a "real runner."

you're not a "real runner" until you......spit while you're running! ha! i've always thought it was pretty gross when people do that but noticed many runners do that, it must be a "fast" runner thing because i was going pretty fast! :)
i'm a little ashamed to admit it...but mostly proud! i've always been very lady-like and it was very out of character, but you gotta do what you gotta do! :)
when did you realize you were a "real runner"??

also, don't forget, today is the last week to enter my awesome drawing benefitting the leukemia & lymphoma society! ENTER HERE

  1. Normally I am not a spitter, but last night, I swear, I could not STOP spitting. It was really dry out. I think that contributed.

  2. I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds myself hilarious. People seem to think there's some rule that you can't laugh at your own jokes? Listen, if I didn't find them laugh worthy I wouldn't be telling them!

  3. I have never spit on a run [ever]. ahhh crap, does this mean I am NOT a REAL runner?! ;)

  4. Hahaha! I've definitely had to spit while running. I used to think it was super gross and would refuse to do it, but sometimes it's just necessary! I do think some people take it to the next level and spit too much! All things in moderation!

  5. SO true! I've totally been guilty of spitting once or twice (or more ;)). I try and be discreet, but it doesn't always work out that way!

  6. No spitting for me either. But I'm plenty real...not sure when exactly that happened...

  7. oh man I am still not a real runner. But I do spit. Girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

ps. I think you can buy a parsnip in the grocery store but we get ours delivered. They look like white carrots and they've got a nutty, starchy flavor. Still not my fave in the world - but cooked in butter and served with maple syrup they're pretty good!

  9. Sweet - I'm a real runner, too! I try to avoid spitting when anyone can see me though. And now that you mention it, I only do it if I am going faster than my normal pace. Interesting!

  10. I've never spit on a run, so I guess I don't qualify as a "real" runner! haha...But I log 6 miles regularly, so maybe I'll just call myself a 6-miler. :-)

I love running too, but I'm sad to say it's been too long for me..! I need to start up again :)

  12. I never swallow my spit when I run, so I am constantly spitting. I have a runner friend who jokes that she will never get lost on a run because she can follow my spit trail. I was raised with 4 brothers though, so I'm a pretty good spitter..not sure if it makes me a bonafide runner...but I am a bonafide spitter!
It messes my breathing up to swallow.

I tagged you in my post today- check it out!

  13. I never knew runners spit. I guess I'll be learning a lot as I try to pick up running this year.

  14. So glad you are feeling better. That makes two of us! As for spitting, I'm all for it but I can't do it when I run for some reason. I'm spit defective apparently.
